Golf Chapman Format
Chapman is a two-person team format that combines partner play, strategy, and alternate shot.
How Chapman Works
Both partners tee off. Each player then hits their partner's second shot. After the second shots, the team chooses one ball and plays alternate shot until the hole is completed.
Chapman is popular because both players are involved early on every hole, but the format still creates the pressure and strategy of alternate shot.

Switch Second Shots
Each player hits their partner's ball for the second shot.

Alternate Shot Finish
The team chooses one ball after the second shots and alternates until the hole is finished.

Chapman vs Alternate Shot
Alternate shot usually has one player teeing off and partners alternating from there.
Chapman gives both players a tee shot and a second shot before the team chooses one ball. This makes it more forgiving and often more fun for mixed-skill teams.
